Live reviews
Brooklyn’s Liturgy is definitely one of the strangest bands that I’ve come across. They describe their genre as “Transcendental Black Metal”, watching them live is a little bit of an experience, which is probably the best way of putting it. They’re very together and tight when they play live, the double kick patterns of Greg Fox’s drums keep everything nicely in check, however I will say that this band are definitely for those metal listeners who just want something a little different to listen to. Their first song “Generation” is pretty much the same chord for six minutes. Yes I found myself time keeping. I see their music more as an art form, playing pieces rather than songs. Each song sounds a little bit more like a jam to be honest. One of the things that I thoroughly enjoy about their sound is the fact that the guitar tones aren’t necessarily distortion they’re more over driven than anything, which is quite clever, and engaging as it’s something different.
