Biography
Born Sebastian Bierk and raised in Peterborough, Ontario, Sebastian Bach's music career began at the tender age of 14 when he joined a local hard rock band by the name of Kid Wikkid in 1983. However, that band would only last until 1985, and after they split Bierk began singing wherever he could, and in 1987, that took him to rock photographer Mark Weiss's wedding. Also attending the wedding were members of the New Jersey glam metal band Skid Row, whose singer had recently left the band. They were all impressed with the 18 year old up on stage, and shortly after the wedding, they asked Bach to join the band, which he gladly accepted. Skid Row went on to become the last truly enormous glam metal band before grunge arrived and shut it all down, with their self-titled debut album going five times Platinum within months of its release.
Of course, Skid Row wouldn't have been a true glam metal band without inner tension and pettiness, and it all came to a head in 1996, when Bach booked a show for the band opening for KISS. The other band members resented this, claiming that the band were too big to open for anyone, and the resulting arguments lead to Bach leaving the band in the same year. Ever since then, Bach has succeeded in everything he's tried his hand at, from his solo career which began in 1999, a Broadway career which began a year later in the title role of Jekyll And Hyde and a screen acting career that's seen him show up in everything from The Trailer Park Boys to Spongebob Squarepants. He's one of heavy metal's great survivors, and thirty years after his first foray into rock music, he still comes highly recommended.
Live reviews
Sebastian Bach was amazing! This was the first time that I have seen Sebastian Bach in concert since 1989! He sounded absolutely the same as he did back in 1989! The man has not lost a thing!
The venue however was the least desirable part of the entire evening! The place is called hat tricks in Lewisville Texas, and it was very disappointing to me that Sebastian had to play in a bar, especially a Dive bar! I have heard of this bar before because I have friends that play in tribute bands that play at hat tricks but this was my first time ever going to this bar and I hope it's my last! Sebastian Bach deserved A venue more like the house of blues in Dallas or Trees in deep ellum.
Besides the venue seem Sebastian Bach on stage singing as well as he did made the entire night very memorable.
I cannot wait until the next time he comes back to Dallas fort worth to play another show. The worst part it has been 14 years since we last played Dallas-Fort Worth. I hope he does not wait another 14 years before he decides to come back.
My point I am trying to make is if you know Sebastian Bach is coming to your area you should not miss this show, you will not regret going! I only wish Sebastian and skid Row would reunite!
Sebastian's band is really good but they are not skid Row. Much to my surprise Sebastian's drummer is also Rob Halford's drummer Bobby Jarzombek!! Bobby is in a amazing drummer! I only wish he had thrown out drumsticks to the fans he didn't throw one single drumstick to the fans.
So do yourself a favor and go to the Sebastian Bach show when he is in your area you won't regret it and it will be a memory that last a lifetime.
I had the pleasure of attending The Sebastian Bach show at the Islington O2 last night. Having been a fan for over 20 years I wasn't sure he could cut it live after all these years. Well I was wrong even though he had done eleven shows in twelve days he was still going strong full of energy and a great show man with witty banter throughout the set that included plenty of Skid Row fan favorites. Sebastians vocals aren't as strong as they were two decades ago but the crowd had no problem helping out at times with a few of the classics. At one point he even joked that Axl Rose was coming out to do a song with him. I had the opportunity of meeting him after the show for an interview before he and the band headed off to Germany. Obviously fatigued he was in good spirits (possibly due to the huge coffee he was making at the time). Telling me in a matter of fact drawl not to believe what you read about him online! Supposedly that he auditioned for 'Dragonforce' no less.Quoting "I mean Who the F**K are Dragonforce anyway!
Wow,
Sebastian Bach still has his amazing voice. He kept the audience involved and showed why he is the heir apparent to the voice crown left by rob halford. Sebastian hit every note throughout the night (however some of them we augmented by the sound board with extended durations). He played an almost identical set from a week ago in Sarasota (except for Tom Sawyer). Sebastian still kicks ass and I really wish he could patch things up with the rest of skid row to go on tour with them. After guns and roses getting back together, skid row is the most desired reunion out there. We love you guys.
he is an excellent performer i love the way he performs and with the music going at the same time he performs with it it's hard for me to explain but i love the show and the whole band an excellent performer and so is his band!!!! god bless them all it's so nice to see Sebastian up here in toronto at home where he's from north of here in peterborough a few hours north!! he's very sweet too he does backgrounds that belonged to his late dad! if u haven't seen him go and see him he's excellent i can't wait to see him again!!
After all of these years - Sebastian Bach still demonstrates a passion and zeal for rockin' hard and heavy. His band was excellent! Although he did forget some of the words to one of his newer songs - and had some trouble hitting all of those high notes - the energy and positivity more than made up for it! He truly appears to love what he does - and appreciates his supporters. His set was a little short - as the show lasted for only an hour and fifteen minutes. Nevertheless, I would not hesitate to see him again!
Just saw Sebastian Bachs’ ”30th Anniversary Tour” in Ohio on September 4th and he killed it!!! His voice is as good as ever and he rocks hard, it was unbelievably amazing, he kicked ass! My daughters and I saw him at the meet and greet after the show and he was/is so cool lots of love there. It was a dream come true which we will never forget! Great work Sebastian, thank you for all you do and see you next year “you rock you roll”
Sincerely,
Linda Bence
Omg..I JUST found this chance to review Sebastian Bach's live show that I attended in June
of 2018!!
Well, better late than never I hope.. But I had the best time EVERRR !!
Seeing him live and in person was better than I ever dreamed, not only does he still give his fans 100% of his god given vocal talent, but puts on a show that
I'll never forget..
Worth every penny, and I'd go every night if it were possible..
Gotta love it!!
I went to first Tour date in San Juan Capistrano for Sebastian Bach's Youth Gone Wild West Tour.
Me being a huge fan of Sebastian loved the smaller Concert Hall The Coach House.
I was really impressed with Sebastian's performance. He is a wonderful front man with high energy. He keeps the crowd happy.
I was happy with the selection of old and new songs that he performed.I would recommend seeing him.
Sebastian Bach always delivers !!! This show was no exception ... this rock legend deserves all the hype. What an awesome gig !!! They even had Robbie from the Rob Halford band on drums !!! Sebastian just tears it up with all the Skid Row songs and his tribute to Bon Scott & rendition of AC DC was fantastic !!! Oi ! Oi ! Oi !
This show was absolutely awesome! Sebastian is still the best and always will be! He still sounds like he did back in the day and that’s rare for some bands nowadays. I would highly suggest, that when he comes back again, true Sebastian fans need to go see him! I had a great time and couldn’t ask for better!
