  • Balladeer with a side of sassy. Ever timeless and tender, last night's concert delivered the warmth and complexity that her voice & master guitar talents could offer to eager fans.

I believe my first concert with MCC was same August night 1996 in NJ with Trisha Yearwood as her opening act. Last night I watched her sing all my favorites with ethos and accuracy. The members of her band (with Emily Baker as back up) seemed to be having as much fun as we were. Nothing like an intimate night with MCC in sumner.

See you in November at Keswick in Glenside.

  • UK resident (originally from Australia), Emily Barker, opened for the show at Boise Idaho's Egyptian Theatre downtown last night on Thurs., June 28th. Her crisp vocals cut through the theatre with such beauty and clarity, and her musicianship on the guitar, harmonica, and piano no doubt made many new fans this evening.

Chapin performed flawlessly with her band members consisting of a drummer, bassist, pianist and guitar/mandolin player. Emily Barker stepped in for backing vocals and tambourine on several songs, too. Mary Chapin performed many favorites and a few new songs from the most recent 2 albums. Over this Summer's tour, she is celebrating 30 years of recording, and I have been a supporter of her music for at least 25 of those years. Well, "supporter" would be an understatement; she's the musical love of my life...haha.

I'm grateful she is continuing to tour and make records, as I know it can't go on forever. I'm cherishing what concerts I'm still able to attend, because, as Chapin said during the show last night, sometimes we really need to come together and connect to the music in person and not just digitally in the form of cd's and mp3's. She's right, too. There's really nothing like it.

  • Mary never disappoints! We waited months for her arrival in Boise tickets tucked away at Will Call. Second row on the end, we laughed, we cried, we lip synched every precious lyric savoring every succulent syllable.

We love Mary and her band and adore how she honors each of them. My daughter and I first saw her nearly 15 go and every lyrics and melody from Mary articulates our deepest dreams, hopes and hurts. Keep coming back, Mary.
