Mutya Buena isn’t just an exotic name, or just an ex member of the Sugababes. She is in fact a very successful artist in her own right having had four charting singles, the biggest of all being “Real Girl” which peaked at number two just one shy of the top spot in 2007 when she went solo. Another song that made it to the top ten was “Song4 Mutya” featuring Groove Armada. Word on the street is that Mutya Buena has reformed with the original members of the Sugababes under the new name of Mutya Keisha Siobhan.
However, tonight it’s all about the Mutya Buena that we all know and love. She opens with “Song 4 Mutya”, the track that originally featured groove armada. There is a bit of a hip-hop vibe encroaching upon the song, but it is working and no one in the audience seems to have an issue with this. It is when she plays her mid tempo number two single that the whole room starts to really let go and dance. She sings the song note perfect too; there is no doubt that this lady has maintained her caliber of talent over the last decade of being in the music industry.
