Live reviews
Wow; Saw The Damn Truth in Edmonton on May 26. This band is unreal. I stumbled onto them about a year ago and have been waiting for the chance to see them live. Absolutely incredible band. Talent dripping out of them and I would expect next time to see them playing in front of a few thousand people. Having the chance to see them play at the Mercury club was unreal and one would never expect the opportunity to see an band like them play in such a small and intimate venue.
Lee-la singing is something to behold. She is the most soulful and intense sound like listening to a reincarnation of Janice Joplin. The band is so tight and powerful you can't take your eyes off them.
They all had time to talk for a minute and introduce themselves after the show which was a treat as well.
If you haven't heard of The Damn Truth, you will and do not miss the chance to see them live.
This high-energy, in-your-face throwback rock quartet does not skimp on fist-pumping music! Lee-la (vocals) has a voice that evokes sitting in the mud at Woodstock, and she is supported by the driving bass-line and bare-chested acrobatics of PY, who slams into the wildfire guitar-riffs and high-jump hopping of Tom. All of this carried lovingly and grounded realistically in the skin-beating arms of drummer Dave. You MUST see this band...and make sure you push your way to the front row.
If you haven’t seen them live, you haven’t lived. Lee-La Baum is a force to be reckoned with. It’s like Janice Joplin and Grace Slick had a baby; an absolute rock goddess. The rest of the band does not disappoint. You can tell they love what they do and they’re damn good at it. Do yourself a favour and check them out!
Amazing show. Great performance. Songs are even better live. Review must be 30 words long? Why is that? Still not 30... jeez ok, here's a few more. Enough? Ok that was apparently 28. Should be plenty now.
Seen them 3 times and they do not disappoint.
High energy + a great voice. A MUST SEE !!!!
This review must be 30 words long at least.
Is this enough ?
