In the intimate setting of a small village hall, Lakeman and Roberts present a show that is both powerful and yet warm and friendly at the same time. They both banter with the audience and introduce their songs with humour whilst giving an insight into what inspired the lyrics. Kathryn’s voice was, as ever, a delight to listen to. She has an incredible range and tonality and is at ease singing a soft ballad or a rousing ‘murder’ song. Sean’s guitar playing is quite incredible and enhances his wife’s distinctive voice. Add to this Kathryn’s clever writing skills and it makes for a wonderful evening of music and tales. It’s no wonder we go and see Lakeman and Roberts at every opportunity we get.
