You wouldn’t think that a mix of 70s experimentalism and 90s Grunge could ever really work but Selig step out on stage each night determined to prove that the bold fusion of styles doesn’t only work but makes for a killer live show. After a nearly 10 year long hiatus the band are on the comeback and are working their hardest to convince crowds that their sound is a success and after seeing them live it would be hard to say otherwise.
With guitar heavy jams erupting from the stage each night, crowds don’t have a choice but to pay attention and they are rewarded with songs that are as melodic as they are heavy. Singer Jan Plewka leads old fans through sing alongs and excites the new ones with his passionate cry. He belts through chorus and soars over the instrumentation with heavenly improvisations, all the while the band crunch through with guitars, drums and keyboards all whirling together to make a thick sound. Selig may have an unconventional style but their shows are a good old fashioned rock and roll party.
