The Kingston Trio

Imagine directly influencing an artist as brilliant as Bob Dylan or being responsible, more or less single-handedly for turning folk music into a hot commodity and kick starting the entire folk revival scene of the 50s and 60s. These are just some of the Kingston Trio’s accomplishments, a group who are still touring and impressing today.
Playing traditional folk with a commercialised polish and finessed songwriting, the trio always wows audiences with classic lyricism and interesting instrumentals provided by their signature Martin guitars and banjos. Its not unusual to catch the crowd singing along to some of the classic hits, songs which like fine wine have improved over the years. Now when audiences get to hear this music, they are not just witnessing some fine musicianship but a little window into history, a window to an exciting time where three men with guitars could become the biggest group in the world and influence an entire generation after them.
