Dope Purple

Psychedelic/noise rock band founded in Taipei in 2016, DOPE PURPLE channel influences from hard rock, noise and psychedelia with a particular emphasis on sounds from the Japanese underground, into a cosmic guitar explosion. Dope Purple is committed to promoting Taiwan's psychedelic rock culture and hosted the Taipei Psychedelic Rock Music Festival in 2022 & 23 inviting musicians like Makoto Kawabata (Acid Mothers Temple) and Taigen Kawabe (Bo Ningen). Dope Purple has been actively touring in China where they have received high praise. In 2025, new album 'Children in the Darkness' was released by Riot Season Records.
