Word on the streets is that Jeff Lorber the Grammy nominated piano virtuoso is going out on tour to perform some of the biggest works he has ever composed. He is such a widely recognised smooth jazz pioneer, with his song featured on The Weather Channel’s “Local On The 8s” segments. Lorber began the piano when her was four and went through the rite of passage of playing in many R&B bands in his teens almost giving himself that humble backing to go on to enrol at Berkless College of Music. He is one of those musicians who rubs shoulders with other prolific artists such as the world class saxophonist Kenny G.
He performs live this evening accompanied by a huge ensemble, making everyone gasp in amazement. You can hear a pin drop on the quietest sections of the music being performed. I can’t get over the beautiful swells of “Angel in Paris” which just makes the audience sway from side to side. It’s such a wonderful atmosphere with Lorber at his helm on the piano. He even performs his R&B piece that he wrote with David Frank and Mic Murphy also known as “The System”.
