Blanket Approval, Known Moons (US), Two Mile Moon, and Rellick

Milwaukee’s Known Moons seamlessly blend bouncy alternative-indie rock and dream pop. Full of lo-fi drum machines and fuzzy synths, the group juxtaposes smooth electronic indie pop against complex, emotional lyricism.
Originally formed as a recording project by Andrew James, with collaborators Elliott Douglas and Josh Evert, the trio released the first Known Moons EP Everything Is on February 13, 2024. Due to the positive reception to the songs, Known Moons began to branch outside of the studio and now consistently performs regionally and beyond. Since shifting to a more traditional band, the lineup has expanded to include Ben Giddens (bass) and Danny Walkowiak (drums) as permanent members while Douglas and Evert remain on as writing and recording partners. Giddens can be found contributing bass to each of the songs on the band's new EP Beginning to End. In addition to the expanded permanent lineup, Known Moons also enlisted a few guests to help elevate the sonic landscape of the new songs.
Steve Lamos of American Football contributes a trumpet solo to the EP’s lead single “TIME,” which also features The Happy Fits’ Calvin Langman on cello. Langman also adds cello to the EP’s title track, as well as the EP’s second single “Under the Sword” which features Connor Erickson of Barely Civil on guest vocals. The band tapped Sean Hirthe (Saxophone on “Under the Sword”) and Lora Kosanke (Violin on “Beginning to End”) to round out the recording lineup.
Like its predecessor, Beginning to End was recorded and mastered by Josh Evert at Silver City Studios in Milwaukee, WI, and was mixed by Elliott Douglas in Kansas City, MO. Both EPs can be found on all major streaming services, and a limited edition 12" dual-ep vinyl, appropriately titled Everything is Beginning to End, can be found on both the band's merch table as well as knownmoons.bandcamp.com
