Chuckie is a producer of the type of music referred to as the "dirty house" scene. This type of music is orientated around urban club events, dancing and bright lights. His specific style of music is referred to as the "Dirty Dutch" genre, incorporating high pitch lead synths over latin-inspired rhythms and samples.
Chuckie has done remixes of songs for Michael Jackson, David Guetta, and produced for 50 Cent, Akon and Kesha during his career. His biggest hits include "Aftershock", "Make Some Noise" and "Let the Bass Kick". He released these under the Ministry Of Sound record label.
Chuckie has also been associated with acts such as Afrojack, Hardwell, LMFAO and Skrillex. In 2012 he worked as a producer for Marina and the Diamonds on the song "Radioactive" and for T-Pain's song "it's Not You (It's Me)" the year before. He also produced the single “Work It Out” for Lil Jon, featuring Pitbull as part of his “Crunk Rock” album.
In 2014 he made a remix of Shakira's "Dare (La La La)" song and T-ara's "Sugar Free" single. The same year he released his single "Dirty Funkin Beats". His work has also been showcased on the EDM show "What's Hot in EDM?" on BBC Radio 1 in the past.
Chuckie has been categorised into what has been referred to as the ‘dirty house’ genre of music, and focuses on the urban dancing events with holograms and crazy lighting. I would totally agree with this, as his awesome music is perfect for this kind of epic setting, and it’s great to see him be able to put on a show with crazy lighting and great acoustics.
As well as being an awesome performer, Chuckie has worked with some massive artists in the industry, such as Michael Jackson, and David Guetta, remixing tracks for them, as well as producing for other huge R&B and rap artists. The Ministry of Sound show opened with the stage in darkness, and the heavy electronic bass of Electro Dude sounding out over the venue. As the lights began to flash and we could see a distorted outline of Chuckie with his arms in the air, the tempo began to increase, and the audience were going crazy before the drop.
From start to finish everyone was dancing, and singing along to the tunes. Chuckie was great at interacting with the audience and keeping the energy high. Seeing a DJ live, it’s sometimes hard to remember that they’re performing, but when you watch their hands dancing over the sound desk, I assure you, you’ll be mesmerised.
