Thank you Warsaw for adding this second show with Martha. A truly special band that everyone should have the privilege of seeing.
For a vegan, straight-edge band from Pity Me, England named after the last passenger pigeon, they rock. They really ROCK. Their playing is clear and seamless and, as a unit, they are as professional as a band that has been performing together for 30 years.
They played crowd favorites including Ice Cream and Sunscreen, The Awkward Ones (Daniel's guitar skills on full display here), Gordon's Detective Agency, Curly & Raquel, 1997 Passing in the Hallway and Christine. If only they played Gin & Listerine and Jc's baby, St Paul's (Westerberg Comprehensive).
Martha radiate goodness, fun and playfulness. One might even say that they were courting the crowd strong. Nathan shared a funny Cardi B joke that seemed to tickle him. Jc was the consummate showman. Naomi was the calm rock in the center of the stage. Daniel telegraphed cheer and kindness.
Why on earth were they not the headliners?
Martha please come back to the United States often.
