Just amazing powerful, heart rendering, funny, warm and what a voice!!!
We are in West Australia for three months and when I saw the Kasey Chambers concert publicised I was ecstatic, she has been on my 'bucket list' for 20 years and every time she has played in London we were not there, so this was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Boy was she powerful, we saw Lucinda Williams a few weeks ago in London and all I can say is that Kasey is the inheritor of Lucinda's mantle. Maybe she has already taken that mantle and is now surpassing Lucinda and others. The queen is sad long live the queen...
She played some old and familiar tunes, some from her more recent Bittersweet album and about 5 new ones - well can't wait for this new album. At the end of one powerful number she grinned and observed that all the women were smiling & all the men looked terrified! She balanced this with some more acoustic and softer numbers, She was engaging and clearly build a relationship with the audience. But above all what a voice!
The band were tight and all incredible musicians individually but here they worked as an ensemble and were sparking off one another.
When can we see and hear her again???? Why is this woman not an international star shining above others?
