Elvin Bishop

You are never too old to rock and roll, especially when you have a bit of a bluesy feel to your music as well. Such is the case with Elvin Bishop and his band. Having reached a height of popularity in the late 70s, they continue to perform live and still rock your heart out. It’s no surprise at all that in 1998 he was inducted into the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of fame. Being such a well-established artist, he draws a crowd of all ages. He also gets a great introduction from who ever it is that is hosting the particular event that he playing. Once he takes the stage, he thanks everyone for their long time love and support and starts the band playing. He really does have a great sense of music, a lot of jazz riffs into his rocking guitar. His vocals are okay, but its his guitar skills that really shred into your heart and soul. When he takes a solo, all you can do is close your eyes and be completely engulfed by the mesmerizing sounds. As soon as you open them, you realize that you are one among many in the crowd enjoying the music that way.

Californian blues rock musician Elvin Bishop has well and truly cemented his reputation on the circuit on the back of a career that has stemmed five decades. Now well into his 70s, Elvin continues to tour around the globe with a loyal band of musicians who know the discography in as much depth as the main man.

For a pensioner, Bishop has a huge amount of energy for the show and the live experience and is intent on keeping the crowd engaged and enthusiastic all night. There is expert guitar playing demonstrated, a great onstage band rapport and most importantly irresistible blues rock. Many people say that the blues never age and Elvin Bishop's music is a great example of this as the smooth bass notes of 'Got to Be New Orleans' and 'Travelin' Shoes' sound as relevant today as when they were originally recorded. The audience applauds as one at the finale and it is very duly deserved for this talented and enjoyable musician.

My big bro turned me and my best friend on to Elvin when we were freshman's n high school...back n the 70's...wow he was awesome...day on the green..I think it was at Stanford, can...we r now 60 yrs old and his songs will never get old to us...I lost my bro 3 months ago...I just heard stealing watermelons and I cried...happy tears and a few sad...ty Elvin and band for your awesome songs and concerts...love ya'll...I now live n Ky saw where your going to b n Florida n 20 days and would like to come c ya'll the good Lord willing....love ya'll and again ty very much!!!!!!
