I got here by accident, I stayed by choice!
Ever have a friend pull a joke on you to the extent where you think you're going to your favourite artists concert and it turns out you're not? yeah well one day it will and you will thank them forever!
There's me thinking I'm going to see Jay-z perform and I'm gonna be chanting his lyrics with hundreds of other fans and instead, there's these 6 guys on stage with string instruments; guitars, violins, you name it. I'm thinking this looks bizarre as anything, but hey! times are changing anyone can be a supporting band for anyone these days, but after about 3 songs with the audience singing all the words and the fattest grin on my friends face I realised they were the MAIN band, I had been tricked!
After getting over the fact that I would not be hearing 99 problems, I refused to let this be the 100th and so I got into the band playing. This is not my usual type of music and the song that caught my ear was 'Don't leave me now' it really did something to me, like when the Grinch's heart grew, well my musical heart grew and I accepted this band into my ever growing heart.
They performed a song called 'Katie Queen Of Tennessee' and the audience seemed to be entranced including me! the soft sad, but hopeful tone of this song just does something to everyone and just reminded me of that girl in primary school, who was very much out of my league in year 1 ( she was on white label, I was on red)but I mean if one song of theirs can do something like this to a person that's not a fan of the Indie genre, then what can it do for someone that is?
I will say, I love this band, I felt weird saying that but I must say how I feel and if ever given the chance to see them again, I will TAKKE it without a doubt in my mind!
