I recently got to see the hardcore band, I See Stars, play a show at the Ace of Spades in Sacramento up in Northern California. This was quite a cool experience.
Metal shows have always been a favorite of mine, with the intense vibe and extremely loud music and mosh pits. From the beginning, right when the strobe lights started hitting and the first guitar notes rang through the stacks, the crowd goes for it. The chugging guitars and aggressive growls and screams get the crowd into a mosh pit from the getgo.
It is interesting to hear the band go from their breakdowns and guttural screams into some poppy, electronic bridges. It is a really interesting contrast.
The band has great energy and is jumping up and down the whole time as the crowd screams. Devin's clean vocals were very impressive because he hit every note even in the high-pitched songs which was very impressive.
They did play an encore at the end of the show and it worked out very cool. They played the song Filth Friend, which ends with the lyrics "LIGHTS OUT," to which the lights of the stage all go black and the band finishes their set.
Amazing Night with I See Stars! These guys are the nicest most fun group of guys...and we had a blast. Even got to meet Dylan...the little brother, what a cutie pie! The show was fantastic considering the tiny venue (Hard Luck Bar), great sound, great lighting and excellent performance. They played a long set...about an hour and 20 minutes and Devin was full of energy from beginning to end. Just a great night out, awesome to see I See Stars coming back to TO so soon. Just saw them back in November at the Phoenix. They always put on a great show and leave me feeling energized. I can't wait to see them again...
"I'll jump until my legs give in"
"I'll scream until there's nothing left to say" - and I did!
Absolutely amazing, the acts before hand really hyped up the show and everything about it was aces. Yeah there was other who were getting a little wacky but there are always people who get thrown out at shows. Also I'm so glad I bought some merch its awesome!
Every band that played tonight was awesome, but I See Stars took it to a new level. Definitely one of the most intense shows I've ever been to, especially when they played Ten Thousand Feet for the encore. Absolutely ridiculous, loved every minute!
