LAWSON- EVERYWHERE WE GO TOUR LIVE REVIEW WHEN: Wednesday 2nd October 2013 WHERE: De Montfort Hall, Leicester, UK Seeing Lawson was the first ever live headline concert I ever went to see. We had to travel an hour-and-a-half to get to the venue from where we live, but every minute of the car journey was well worth it. In case you don't know, Lawson are a British pop-rock band and the Everywhere We Go Tour is the second tour they did supporting their 2012 debut album, Chapman Square. For quite a small venue, the queue outside the De Montfort Hall (that had mounted up for a while before the doors opened) stretched all the way around the central fountain. Standing and waiting in a chilly October evening was not the most fun in the world, by any means. Lawson got onto stage not a minute too soon or late at around 9:10pm, bursting onto stage with recent single "Juliet". Vocalist Andy Brown was probably better live than he is on the album. Not a single note from him or the two guitarists or drummer was missed, out of pitch or messed up in any way. Midway through the concert, three of the members left the stage, leaving Andy alone on the stage with just an acoustic guitar, to perform ballad "The Girl I Knew". This was preceded by a mash-up of five of their break-up songs, including "Waterfall", "Stolen", "You'll Never Know", "Gone" and "You Didn't Tell Me", four of which were written by Andy all by himself. The four band members are generally very friendly, humble people. On a few occasions in their set, they paused to chat to the audience and later took a photo of themselves with the audience in the background, which they posted on their Instagram account the following day. Some of the fans were also surprisingly excited- when Andy came down in front of the standing area, the girls ruffled his hair and another tried to unbutton his shirt, so he protectively covered his chest in an attempt to stop them! Lawson are a brilliant band to see live, and I would recommend seeing them- just not somewhere like the De Monfort Hall that heats up quickly!
