They say your twenties are the best years of your life and this is certainly true for Marlene Kuntz. Their rock is melodical and lilting, the perfect accompaniment to their rolling Italian lyrics. These aren’t your stereotypical shaggy-haired rock stars that jump and sweat and attack their songs. No, the guys of Marlene Kuntz might subscribe to the long hair, but this is where the comparison stops. The band strikes as suave, stylish, and cultured. Perhaps they’re playing on the global stereotype of what it means to be Italian, but nevertheless it’s a look that works for them. A Marlene Kuntz show is a well thought out affair. The band purposefully reels you in with old favourites like ‘Donna L’ before bringing things to the next level and hitting you with something intense like ‘Senza Rete’. Unsurprisingly, each and every single member of a Marlene Kuntz audience will know each and every line of the band’s songs. The crowd will often throw themselves into the performance as much as the band, but nothing can top these guys when they’re on. Christiano Godano’s voice in particular is majestic and it is no wonder that the band often indulges its audience with two encores. One thing’s for certain: it’s definitely hard to get enough of these guys.
