It was a fantastic evening. I saw the original Ruts at places like the Marquee and Nashville. I even yelled Human Punk down a microphone thrust in my face by the late Malcolm Owen.
Seeing and hearing the Crack in its order was great and my memory of the first six songs over the second six would suggest that I played side one more than side two.
However, once they had finished the album they played some newer songs which had a Ruts influence along with some originality.
Mention should be made of the introductory poem. It was clever with smart wit and held everyone's attention.
Also, support band, The Professionals, did their job of warming up the audience and more. They are a brilliant band in their own rights.
An early contender for gig of 2019.
It may have taken nearly 40 years but the wait was worth it.
Engaging, humorous and energetic, everything I was hoping for. The original material is burnt in my brain and amazing to hear live and I loved the new material just add much.
Thanks guys, please return soon
Amazing night with Ruts D.C. at Shepherds Bush Empire in London! Great crowd and the boys have so much energy... they sound as good today as they always did. Roll on the next 40 years!!! #thecrackalbum #rutsdc
Brilliant a lot better than I thought for me anyway and I would get tickets to see them again well I am going to see them again this time at the 02 Brixton on Friday well worth seeing.
