Vocalist and guitarist Chris DeMakes, drummer Vinnie Fiorello, and bassist Shaun Grief were originally part of a band known as Good Grief. A couple of years passed from the formation and the line up was finally in place ahead of the release of their first full length album as Less Than Jake.
'Pezcore' was released in 1995 through Dill Records and became the launching platform for the band. It was an ambitious record, featuring a mammoth 21 tracks from the band's early writing and recordings along with two covers of TV theme tunes. This record gained the band attention on both sides of the Atlantic, and the follow-up 'Losing Streak' dented the UK album chart. Following their early notoriety the band had the opportunity to share stages with huge acts such as Blink 182 on the Race Around Uranus Tour and Descendents on the Caffeine Nation Tour. This intense tour schedule and support from peers meant that Less Than Jake remained a constant on the US Heatseekers chart.
Their next album 'Hello Rockview' appeared on the Billboard and the UK album charts within the top 100. Their peak chart positions were achieved in 2003 with 'Anthem' which reached #45 in the US and #37 in the UK which featured two hit singles 'She's Gonna Break Soon' and 'The Science of Selling Yourself Short'. They have consistently released albums and EPs over their career and have performed and recorded as a unit since their formation which is an impressive feat for any band.

With over 20 years together as a band, you'd have thought that experience and a more mature age would have tamed their live experience. Luckily that's not the case with Less Than Jake. The energy and enthusiasm they put into their shows puts much longer bands to shame.
They always manage to get the crowd fired up, whether it's skanking along to ska infused songs like Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts or creating a huge circle pit to more punky anthems like Plastic Cup Politics.
With a huge back catalogue and a tendency to off script, you never know what will happen next. Whether it's trying to create the worlds largest human tower or getting the fattest men in the room up on stage to show off their best dancing skills, there's always something new. If you want be be entertained and like your punk with a ska twist, Less Than Jake are not to be missed.
It was a decent show, not super awesome, really. They played one song I really really like I’ve not heard them play live before, so I enjoyed that. They were trashing different states onstage, a lot, which to me was off-putting. That’s the second time I’ve seen Less Than Jake when they’ve done that, and I just don’t get it. I guess they think it’s funny. They do other things that are awesome and funny, like when they got a father/son onstage and ultimately did a combo stage dive, so I think it would be great if they left off the people/places bashing. Not that they care what I think, it’s just my own opinion.
The Less Than Jake/ Reel Big Fish show was amazing. Truly two of the most compatible bands to play together in a long while. I have seen them both play separately and always a fun show but to have these two together made the night unforgettable. Less than Jake chose three guys from the audience with beards to get on stage and have a dance contest. Then he chose a girl to get on stage and dance with the winner. Then at some point someone threw a bra on stage (big cups too!!!) and then another bra flew up on stage. Then 2 of the members wore them the rest of the set over their clothes. I can't wait for the next show!
Less Than Jake put on an amazing show! The vocals were on point as well as the instrumentals. The guys interacted with the crowd, even brought a guy on stage out of the crowd. The energy was intensely positive! The venue they played (High Dive/Gainesville) was small and intimate, supporting the show very nicely. The guys hung out after the show and interacted with concert goers. I would highly recommend getting tickets to spend an evening with LTJ....WELL WORTH IT!!!
Best Band ever!!!! You should never miss a Show!!! It was a pleasure. Good crowd, good Music. Me and my friends really enjoyed this evening. Less Than Jake was only the supportact and was only allowed to be on stage for an hour. We even don't like the Headliner, but went to the concert anyway, paid the price for the headliner, watched Less Than Jake and went to another Party :) bevor the headliner was playing ;)

A toilet paper-er needs to happen at my house. Stat. They put on a great show, even if the amps and mics were sub par.. a common downside ofor nny band before the headliner. I was afraid of that, but also prepared and trust me that fact did not hinder the show, nor the crowds energy. Everyone cheered an encore set which they happily obliged to.
Less than jake last night in Dynamo Eindhoven was great. At first the sound wasn't spot on and the guys were very talkative. The last part of the set and encore were superb. Chris played a solo version rest of our lives. Goosebumbs. Not the best show i've seen from the guys out of florida , but a great show non the less. SKAPUNK RULEZ LONG LIVE HORNS
Less than Jake as always a great show! The crowd was amazing! A really good vibe from everyone! Every time this band is near I'm going to be there!!! They speak to their old fans as well as new music to their new fans! All ages at this show!! Lots of crowd surfing and mosh pit was crazy!! A blast!!
Really great performance with a lot of energy and excitement, especially for a Tuesday night. They sang slightly different harmonies than they recorded on their albums, which kept their oldest songs still feeling fresh, and they didn't miss a note.
Less Than Jake was amazing. I loved that they played their old songs and their most recent ones too. The vibes were great and they would stop and talk to the audience, with made the show seem more personal. They were funny loud and kicked butt
