‘The Music’, to put it simply, are the best band I have seen live! They create a, gritty, powerful and most of all distinctive sound through a wonderful mixture of over driven guitar riffs, powerful and punchy drum beats and the sheer brilliance and vocal ability of lead singer Rob Harvey A wonderful combination of dance and indie pop and one of the most underrated bands to come out of the 00’s!
I saw them at Brixton in what was the 2nd to last ever gig! I remember talking to two Japanese girls who had come across the globe to catch the bands last two gigs, the one we were at, and then the last that was to take place in the bands home town of Leeds. Talk about die hard fans hey! That certainly says something about them as a live act! There was simply no rest bite during the evening, every hit was belted out, then venue simply didn’t stop rocking. It was pure Indie bliss! ‘Freedom Fighters’ had everybody singing along in full voice, ‘Breakin’ brought out the crowd surfers, and ‘Take the Long Road and Walk It’ had us all mesmerised. Rob Harvey stole the stage with his energy and his unbelievable ability to dance, that boy could give Michael Jackson a run for his money! I remember leaving the venue a hot sweaty mess! I could practically ring out my shirt! Very gross, granted! But very true! Never have been to such a fast paced, powerful and exhilarating gig as ‘The Music’.
