It’s not easy to come by a Grammy, of any kind; but La Ley, have earned two Latin Grammy’s and a Grammy for their live performance for MTV Unplugged in 2001. The Chilean alternative rock band have experienced a few line-up changes as well as an eight year hiatus, but the band is still going strong, and still performing for their fans, and giving them all that they want.
As a non-Spanish speaker, I still really appreciate their live performance, and their music in general; as point that any non-Spanish speaker should take note of. It is all about the quality of music and performance, a very high quality that is maintained throughout the show. Their fans are loyal as hell, and are shouting and cheering in anticipation before the show even starts. As the band takes their place and pick up their instruments, you immediately feel the closeness in their chemistry. As they start to play, the crowd erupts in cheers and then all of a sudden, you are completely overwhelmed by the voices of EVERYONE singing along to the music. The band seems really personable and humble, taking the time to talk to their fans every once in awhile. They really rock out, and have a clear passion for making music.
