Summer Heart is a shining example for bedroom producers in the music industry today. Just four years ago, an unemployed David Alexander started messing around on his father’s old synthesizers out of boredom, two years later, his chilled out dream pop tracks were being spread around the blogosphere like wildfire.
Since then the Swedish singer songwriter has secured a strong online fan base with the release of various tracks, all featuring his trademark “Summerwave” sound, notching up no less than half a million plays on his Soundcloud page. In 2012 he released his debut album “About a Feeling”, establishing his position as a certified artist.
As a live experience Summer Heart manages to export his laidback summery sound to the stage. With his long hair covering his face as he crouches over his laptop, Alexander strikes a mysterious figure as he creates the various layers to jams such as “I Wanna Go” and “A Million Times”, whilst simultaneously strumming is acoustic guitar. Alongside him, is a synth player, who plays the catchy chords at varying pace, setting the mood for the slower denser tracks, and keeping the crowd moving with the faster numbers.
If you fancy a chance to wind down and enjoy some smooth, Swedish synth pop, then watching Summer Heart is right down your street.
