The Kingsmen are one of the surf rock pioneering bands from the 60’s alongside bands such as the shadows with their garageband tones. They are best known for their 1963 recording of Ricahrd Berry’s “Louie Louis” which held the no. 2 spot on the Billboard charts for six weeks. The single to this day is a classic, and of course when they play it to this congregation in this prestigious venue, the applause just goes on and on and on, with everyone being very happy to clap along like they feel like a room without a roof. “Don’t Say No” sees people dancing along all the way through this song from start to finish shaking it like they just don’t care. “If I Needed Someone” is the reflective song of the programme, which inspires just as much singing along if not more than previous, there is just a little bit more swaying involved. “Get Out of My Life Woman” is the song that features the most angst of the whole set, but still leaving a fantastic lasting impression on these patrons.
