Before the chart topping giants, Clean Bandit, who have taken the globe by storm with their blend of classical works and garage pop, there was a band called San Fermin, an American baroque pop band who were founded by a Brooklyn based composer and songwriter who goes by the name of Ellis Ludwig-Leone. In all fairness, I would probably refer to them more as Clean Bandit’s contemporaries as their sound has sort of gained speed across the pond, they are just sitting tight until it becomes airborne enough to fly over to this side of the pond and really make some waves over here. Tonight they perform works from their debut album “San Fermin”, which showcases some of the material that they released on their two EP’s prior to this album. From this virtuosic performance this evening, it’s no wonder that it made it to number 18 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers chart! Well worth the watch. For real.
A fantastic and rewarding band to watch live. The concert was full of passion, energy and engaging performances - a truly memorable concert from a very likeable group.
I enjoy San Fermin's recorded work as intelligent and original indie rock. However, there is far more to the band's stage presence than their studio productions would suggest and I strongly recommend that anyone with even a passing interest in their work experience a live performance. It is an exhilarating balance of emotional depth and pure entertainment.
I will definitely be catching them again next time they are in the UK.
Amazing show! San Fermin's live show just keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to hear their second album next year. They played 5 songs from the new album. Parasites is a fantastic song that features their violinist. Jackrabbit is another incredible new song from their forthcoming album. I love their first album, but the second one may be even better. And I expect their live show to continue to improve as they tour more and play larger venues. This was the ninth time I've seen them, and every show has been great in its own way.
What an amazing show! We saw them in Cleveland on a Monday night, so I was a little worried they would phone it in. Not so!! They were obviously having a great time onstage, and hung out at the merch table after the show, introducing themselves to people. I had a blast, and I'll definitely be seeing them again next time they're anywhere near.
Absolutely incredible show. Best concert of my life. The energy, passion and talent this band has, is mind blowing. I saw them open for alt-j last summer and was blown away and knew I had to see a full set of theirs as soon as I could. I drove 8 hours to see them and it was more than worth it!
I will never miss this show. Eight people on stage with incredible energy and gorgeous sounds!!!! I hate when there’s a minimum word count. Listen to em on Spotify? Like the sound??? It’s WAY better in person. One of the best concerts I’ve ever attended
Phenomenal show. This is band that truly works live. I liked their recordings, but I LOVED their show. I took a friend who was unfamiliar with their music, and she thought just as much of it.
Variety, talent, and just the right amount of showmanship.
San Fermin was amazing!!! They had such great energy, loved watching all of them jam up there and having a blast!! Highlight of 2017, recommend to anyone. Even if you don’t know who they are you should go, you just found your new favourite band!!!!
Great show. Enjoyed every minute of it. Everything at its best. Wonderful vocals, great harmony and awesome musicianship.
I am 100% sure they will be a giant band within 5 years.
