There are many bands of the moment that rode the MySpace craze around the mid 00s, which was such a good platform at the time if you caught it early enough. This band, called New Years Day are one of those bands that caught that wave an maintained there stance aboard those huge white horse waves. They are playing today on one of the stages at Warped Tour, and have people waiting there from earlier in the day making sure they catch the set.
It’s amazing that bands maintain fans over the course of nearly ten years, this band being a great example. This late afternoon set is promoting their full-length studio album entitled “Victim to Villain” which was released on Century Media. They tear into songs such as “I’m No Good” which is lead by walls of guitars, distorted and playing technical riffs and then enters the voice from Ashley Costello, who has a fantastic alto voice to match her quirky image and huge stage presence. “Bloody Mary” matches the huge sound of “I’m No Good” with it’s huge hooks, and huge guitar lines. This audience have their hands in the air, punching along to every word with such passion.
This was the worst concert I have ever been to. It wasn't because the bands weren't good. It was due to the equipment they used. The music was much louder than the voices. I probably knew most of the songs but could not tell. Even when there was no speaker, the voices sounded distorted. I will give the Korova one more shot, but if the next concert I go to sounds this bad, I am done with the Korova.
On the bright side, my daughter and I did get a picture with Eyes Set to Kill. Very cool.
You could definitely tell when New Years Day came on stage as it was so loud. It was really good though I didn't really like the two support acts before hand but when New Years Day came on it was worth the wait. The two support groups also made New Years Day look even better than they already are.
They are freaking awesome live!!! Had a blast drinking with some of the band members!!! Woot! Finally! Been waiting for years to finally party with the band. If only I had more money and didn't have to work, I would have definitely partied with them after the show too.
Loved listening to the music as well as meeting the bands. It was fantastic! I hope that all of these bands will return and play at the Catalyst in the Atrium again, as well as meet the fans. I felt very connected with all of the members.
Well their portion of the show was cancelled since Ash broke her foot and needed surgery. Guess you didn't hear about it. We left during Cane Hill because the lead singer was too aggressive towards the crowd and was spitting on us.
Loved every minute of it and hope to see them again in October I love you all thanks for the good performance loved it. And I love Unbreakable its sorm far my favorite album but I do love all the other albums too. See you again soon
So amazing. Put on the perfect show. I hope they come to back to abq. One of my favourite bands. Ash's vocals are the best honestly and they way they preform is one of a kind.
